Two local TV networks in Wichita Falls covered SetFlow and Sanithu in the same week, both centred on how a 20-year-old international student at MSU Texas built a Canvas alternative with BYODB data security after the Canvas breach.

✦ How SetFlow happened
It started as a task tracker for me, then it didn't.
SetFlow began as something I wanted for myself — a team and task tracker for the chaos of being a CS undergrad shipping side projects between classes. I built v1 in March 2026 and it solved the small problem. But once it was running, the bigger problem became obvious.
I rebuilt it for founders, teams, and individuals — twelve tools in one place, the kind of stack I'd been duct-taping together with Notion + Linear + Slack + Google Docs. Education wasn't in the plan. Then one day, sitting in my software engineering class, I looked at the Canvas surface I'd built and thought: what if every student in this class dropped their ideas in here and an AI organized them? That was the pivot. SetFlow became the place that turns chaos into structured work for whoever actually has to ship it.
Textbooks came next — out of nowhere, honestly. I needed to upload my own and ask questions across a chapter, and there was no good tool for it, so I built one. That's when Study Mode appeared: turn any document, lecture recording, or set of notes into flashcards.
Then Tori. The night before the NTASC competition, my professor Dr. Griffin told me something I haven't stopped thinking about: show people how AI actually makes SetFlow powerful, or you're leaving the whole thing on the table. Study Mode could turn text into flashcards. That's a feature. He was telling me to build a teammate.
The name “Tori” landed that night and stuck before I could second-guess it. Some names you pick; this one picked itself. I trusted the gut and shipped her. Every day after that, I rebuilt SetFlow around her — into a faster, smarter, automated EdTech platform for students, teachers, and schools.
✦ What I'm building right now
SetFlow — twelve tools in one, with Tori inside every class.
- →Tori: course-aware AI tutor with voice mode, vision (image + handwritten problem support), and per-class memory. Multi-LLM (Claude + GPT + Gemini) so reliability isn't single-vendor risk.
- →Classroom: auto-graded quizzes (essays + short-answer, not just MC), gradebook, group chat with online presence, parent links, accommodations.
- →LTI 1.3 stack (Core + AGS + NRPS + Deep Linking 2.0). Embed SetFlow inside Brightspace, Canvas, Moodle, or Blackboard. Grades flow back to the gradebook automatically.
- →Academy: free full-length courses, SAT/AP/subject practice exams, cryptographically-signed Open Badges 3.0 certificates that go on LinkedIn.
✦ Before SetFlow
Side projects, two startups paused for this one.
SetFlow is my first real startup. Everything before this taught me something — none of it shipped at the scale I'm aiming for here.
Velant
VisitA separate venture I was building before SetFlow took over.
Venture Panel
A platform where founders pitch their startup idea to four AI agents — they analyze it like a real VC panel: criticize the thesis, score it, surface what would take it from a 6 to a 10. Outputs a roadmap, tech stack, funding plan, and cost projections so you can actually start building.
Campus Circle
Started, paused mid-build when SetFlow's pull became obvious. May come back to it after SetFlow's at scale.
✦ How I build
Solo, fast, full-stack.
SetFlow is a modern full-stack web application with multiple best-in-class AI models powering Tori — primary, fallback, vision, speech-to-text, and voice synthesis each picked for what they're best at. I came in with a background in real-time voice systems (Convirza SIP) which is why the voice mode landed quickly. The verified institutional integrations and the whole compliance stack — I write all of it.
The build log shows the cadence. Read the entries — that's the receipt.
